The Hot Shots won the College Showcase held on July 21 and 22 in Roseville, California, and took third in the Triple Crown World Series held July 17-21 in Sparks. The Nevada Hot Shots 18 and under softball team lived up to its name by posting a 15-2 record through a gauntlet of 17 games over six days in two high-powered tournaments.
